We've started the framing of the basement ADU.
I'm doing some of the work myself, and getting a lot of help and guidance from a professional builder. He's actually doing a lot of framing directly. I'm finding that MOST of the framing is not at all straight forward. If it were just straight walls, that would be one thing.
But, there are pipes, and corners, and load bearing posts and a host of other details that make me less confident about doing the framing without any professional oversight and assistance. I'm paying someone $40/hour for the help, and it's money well spent. Not to mention that I have a busy life, and it's motivating to have someone else there making progress while I'm off doing other (ADU-related) things to make a living.
